Rise of Merlin is Play’n GO’s Book of Dead formula in Arthurian dress: 10 lines, one combined wild/scatter, and free spins with a randomly chosen expanding symbol. That makes it trivially easy to learn but not especially dynamic — base spins are plain line-hit affairs and everything depends on the bonus, where a high-pay expanding symbol (Merlin at full screen pays the 5,000x max) decides whether the round is huge or worthless. The honest drawback is redundancy: it adds almost nothing over Book of Dead, and dead bonus rounds with a low-pay expanding symbol are common. It suits expanding-symbol devotees who want a cosmetic change of scenery; players who already grind Book of Dead have little reason to switch.
Rise of Merlin is a Play n Go online slot with only 10 pay-lines but with high volatility.
This game is equipped with a generous free spinning bonus that has expanding symbols and a generous top prize value of 5000 times your bet can be won while spinning the reels in this game.
The game is played on a 5×3 grid, and all you have to do is join 3 or more symbols on any of the ten winning pay-lines to win a win.
The mysterious Merlin Magic Orb is Wild and the Scatter in this game, which means that it not only replaces any other symbol to create winning paylines, but can also be used to activate the Free Spin feature of the game.
Free spins can be activated by landing 3 or more magic orbits anywhere on the reels, giving you eight free spins in addition to paying the amount of scatters on the reels. You can activate the free spins at any time and get another eight spins each time.
When you activate the free spins, a symbol is randomly selected to become your extended symbol underneath the spins.
If the selected symbol is an HP symbol, you must land at least two of the reels simultaneously to activate your spread. If it is an LP symbol, you must land at least three on the reels to activate the expansion.
If you manage to place enough boxes of the selected symbol on the reels, all winnings from your reel will be paid out first and then your symbol will be expanded, and all winnings will be paid out with the expansion too! Every time you activate the free spin, a different symbol is selected as the expanding symbol.
If this happens, each symbol will expand in turn so you can win on each of them, starting with the lowest pay symbol. If you activate free spins enough times, ALL symbols become expanded symbols.
Rise of Merlin is an online slot with Play n Go fantasy themes. This animated game has dazzling graphics and the reels are located in a beautiful room with whimsical lighting.
The reels are full of symbols with dragons, owls and crystal balls. So you really get the feeling that you are in a magical environment.
Play n Go always does a good job of designing its online slots. Even with such a common theme as the wizard, Play n Go has taken a new twist that makes Merlin a modern character with a more up-to-date look than other slot machines with the famous wizard. This makes for a unique gaming experience that players will enjoy.
The Rise of Merlin has 10 pay-lines, and players can bet between 0.10 and 100 coins per round. An autoplay feature is available for up to 100 races and you can click the radio button to spin the reels faster. What is the RTP of the Rise of Merlin slot?
The RTP of the Play n Go Rise of Merlin slot is 96%. This payout percentage lets you know how much money will be paid out in prizes for every 100 coins you bet. It is also a highly volatile slot, which will reward you handsomely.
However, keep in mind that the prizes will arrive less often than in a low or medium variability slot game.
How to win with the Merlin Slot upgrade
The most generous prize available at Rise of Merlin is paid with two different symbols. Both Merlin himself and the crystal ball (which also acts as a joker) pay out 5,000 times their bet.
The Fire Dragon and the Ice Dragon pay 1600x and 600x their bet, respectively. The Owl also pays 600x. So, as you can see, this is a very high payout space.
In addition to being wild, the crystal ball is also the scatter. Therefore, when it appears three times on the reels, it will activate the free spin bonus. During this round, a special symbol is chosen at random to be a scatter symbol to help you hit and win more easily.
There is not much in this free spin round, but it still hits. It offers great earning potential and gives players many opportunities to win big in this bonus round.
